Hello Sue There is a 22 year old Rachel Mainwarring, born Llandybie living at Caerau in Llandilofawr, Carmarthenshire in 1871. She's working as a servant for a farmer called Rees Morris. I'll send you the image. Hi list: I am helping a friend research her family in Aberystwyth. David Evans married Elizabeth Lewis in December 1879 in Aberystwyth, Cardinganshire. They had the following children: Elizabeth Ann Evans born abt Jan 1881 in Llanbadarn-Fawr, Aberystwyth. John Evans born abt 1883 in Llanbadarn-Fawr, Aberystwyth. David Evans born abt 1885 in Llanbadarn-Fawr, Aberystwyth. Gwladys Evans born Mar 1890 in Llanbadarn-Fawr, Aberystwyth. I have traced them in Llanbadarn-Fawr from 1881 until 1901/1911. In the 1901 Wales Census the family except John is living in Rheidol, Aberystwth, in the ecclesiastical parish of Bangor St. David. David Evans Sr. is a gardener. In the 1911 Wales Census Elizabeth Lewis Evans is a widow and living with her are John, David Jr. and Gwladys. They are living in Wernddu Cottage, Capel Sion, Nr Aberystwyth and John is a Gardener’s helper and David is a painter. Elizabeth Ann is no longer living with them. Gwladys immigrates to Canada in 1919. Any help finding Elizabeth Ann, John & David Jr. would be greatly appreciated. My friend would dearly love to find some descendants of this family in Wales. Regards, Fran in Canada
Thanks to all those who replied. I think that the suggest are correct, particularly as the William(s) originated from Mathry. I am a little puzzled about this lack of being able to view the Dyfed FHS website by members. It does take time for Google to index or in this case re-index pages, if Google hasn't been told that the website has been updated. The pages indexed by Google all open, but not correctly as they give a 404 error. Only the index [ Home page] opens correctly at present. Hi Megan I would agree that one is Dinas, the other is not so clear. Could it beTreopert in Granston parish? Megan - I would guess that Martha's birthplace was Dynas (i.e., Dinas), but I’m not familiar enough with the villages in Pembroke to guess at the birthplace of David. Perhaps someone else more familiar with villages can read it. The old Dyfed FHS website contained some structures/programs which were similar to those used by spammers; this was one of the reasons why we produced an entirely new site. The new site does not have these formats and we have taken action to have this site "cleared" by the "guardians" of the internet. The new site is now declared "clean" by Google, but it takes time for the various virus checkers to pick up this information. NOD32 is one of the most over enthusiastic virus checkers and it has denied access to dyfedfhs.org.uk in the past. (Incidentally if you Google "denied access by NOD 32" you'll discover many other websites suffer the same problem) It is very easy to tell NOD32 that we are clean. This link will take you to a short tutorial describing the procedure. http://www.askvg.com/fix-access-denied-website-blocked-by-eset-nod32-antivir us-due-to-dangerous-content/ I have already passed this link to members of the list who contacted me off list and they have successfully cleared the problem. I'm sure other virus checkers will have a similar procedure. Glyn. Editor, Dyfed Family History Journal.

Myra, Megan stated In the 1871 Census my gt grandmother Mary Ann Cousins is shown with family in Cuckoo Lane, St Martin as follows: COSSENS, George Head 28 1843 COSSENS, Elizabeth Wife 28 1843 COSSENS, Thomas Son 9 1862 COSSENS, Hannah Daughter 7 1864 COSSENS, John Son 5 1866 COSSENS, Mary AnnDaughter 3 1868 COSSENS, James Son 9 months 1870 The Hannah shown in the above was born between 1856 and 1859 to allow for errors in the declared age. The Hannah I identified fits the bill perfectly. Here are the details again Hannah COZENS Haverfordwest June Qtr 1858 11a 719 I am not sure where the one you have found came from? If she was in service: 1). She may have lied about her age to get the post. 2). Whoever provided the answers for the Census, did not know, and estimated her age. Worked beautifully for me. http://www.dyfedfhs.org.uk/ I run medium security so I don't often get Dangerous messages on well established sites.
