Sorry to make comments and run but I couldn't get back to the computer last night. Mainly wanted everyone to start thinking. I like to have things proven to me. I think the book does a great job of giving lineage. I think that once it gets into the 1700's there is a lot of assumption. I have documented Jacob Dice arriving in Savannah Colony of Georgia 1737. I have documented the first death of a Dyess, his son in 1742. In 1750 Moses, his son is living in Richmond County, GA (directly across the river from Barnwell SC) and having many sons. I have spent much time looking for Dyess in SC. They are not there. They are in Georgia. The Dyess historians are through with this project and are not the least bit interested in separating fact from fiction. Everyone is free to believe what they choose. The easy way is to accept the facts as given to you. I want to know the truth even if it means I have to do a little more digging. Just hoping to inspire a little help from others out there. Faye
