    3. Since I'm filing...I am finding quite a bit of things...<smile> As all of you know....the DYESS name has been spelled many ways and this is another way.... I have NO date on this letter, nor, do I have a date on the obit, but...thought it might help someone out there.... Here is the letter: Dear Daniel W. Dyess I wanted to be at the reunion so bad and had planned on it but have sickness in the family. Please Daniel, don't take my name off the mailing list. I am going to make it one year. I have told all the DYESS's around here. Thank you so much, Glaadys Fields Laxley Ala 36551 They are grandchildren of Taylor Dyess. They spell their name different from us. Taylor Dyess was son of Winnfield Scott Dyess Sr. Winfield Scott was my great grandfather. My grandfather was Joe Dyess, my father was Walter Dyess. =============== Here are the obits that were attached to her letter: DYAS Mrs. Mildred Moore Dyas--A native of Atmore, AL and a resident of Mobile for the past 47 years died in a local hospital Tuesday, April 24, 1984. She is survived by her husband Mr. HERBERT J. DYAS of Mobile; one sister, Mrs. Ann Lott of Montgomery, AL; and aunt, Mrs. Lucille Moore of Atmore, nieces, mephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Rodney Funeral Home Thursday, April 26, 1994 at 11AM. Visitation will be from 5 until 9PM. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements by Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin St. Mobile, AL. ================= DYAS Mrs. Havis C. (Buddy) Dyas -- a native of Baldwin County, AL and a resident of Mobile for the past 59 yearsdied in a local hospital Sunday, April 22, 1984. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Sondra Bryan of Chattanooga, TN, Mrs. Alycia Smith of Chattenooga, TN, Mrs. Debra White of Knoxville, TN and Mrs. Betty Claire Hensley of Mobile; three sisters, Ms. Alice DYAS of Mobile, Mrs. Vessa Scott of Mobile, and Mrs. Lilla McIntosh of Palm Springs, CA; one brother, HERBERT DYAS of Mobile; seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funderal services were held from the chapelof Rodney Funderal Home on Tuesday April 24, 1984 at 12:00 with Rev M. R. Bradley officiating. Honorary pallbearers were John Terrenova, Rev Wayne Jarrard, Wheller Jenigan, Leon Henderson and Leon Sawyer. Active pallbearers were Xeme Sawyer, Ed Kelley, Homer Weaver, Ryland J. Murden, Albert Dyess and Vernon Dyess. Full military honors were rendered at graveside by the Honor Guard Unit of VFW Post #49. Cdr Willie Skipper presented the flag. Interment was in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
