My wife's ggrandfather was H. Jack DYESS, b. 16 Dec 1840, GA, d. 29 Jan 1863, Murfreesboro, TN while serving with the CSA. He was m. to Mary Ann Elizabeth REVEL, b. 1840, GA, d. 1928, Pike Co. AL. I have the Alabama GLO CD, and I note that in 1858 the following DYESS purchased land from the gov in AL. Since both REVEL and FILLINGIMs also purchased land in the same location in 1858 and 1860, I suspect one of the DYESS was most likely Jack's father. Hopefully someone can help me fill in a blank. DYESS William C. Winfield S. George G. John H. George W. Jack and Mary Ann's daughter, Mary Elizabeth DYESS, b. Oct 1861, Taylor Co. GA, m. A. T. FILLINGIM in Montgomery AL in 1883 before coming to Texas in 1898.
