Good Morning Cousins.... This is just the last reminder about the DYESS reunion here in Alexandria, La.. this week end.... But...I wanted to make one last Pitch!!! <smile> Don Marler has secured a room at the Roadway Inn for us to meet at 6PM on Friday, May 1st. This is for everyone and anyone who is interested in the family history..... We will have photocopy availability!!!!!!! Don, I have that item finalized!!!!! I have spent a lot of time getting that part done.... and... I think everyone will be pleased at the results!!!!!! I talked to *Martha* at Roadway Inn....and...made one last neogitation power struggle...about their copying machine...<smile> Back two weeks ago...they were going to charge us 15 cents per copy; therefore, I had another option lined up... HOWEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This morning Martha said..... that if we bring our own paper, and, if they are not overly busy...they will copy the material we want for free..... And...the worse possible thing that could happen...is they do charge us some money for copying if they are busy..... But..Don, she has your name and my name...and...she is to leave instructions stating the above.... Don: I will bring 2 rhems of paper and can bring more if you think..... This past week end, we had a SMITH reunion and Barbara and I met at my house with a new cousin from Greenville, Tx... We were going to work on family group sheets; share material, etc... But...we found there was more than expected; therefore, we all three went to Office Depot and spent about 4 hours in copying material...... We each gave and received years of research and certified copies of material... and... we each spent about $25.00 each in doing it....So...getting together and sharing information....works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone gains from it......... So....Dyess people and allied lines... Please consider coming to this reunion and let's make this the beginning of the best thing that we can for our family history.... It's more than a tree....It's HISTORY that will be left for our GGGGGGGGG grandchldren...<smile> We have some growing pains on this one.... but... we are just beginning...and...we will refine the process..... So...just bare with us and help with the refinning process.... There are some things that you can do to help and that's start calling and letting everyone that you know about the reuion... You know relatives that we have no way of knowing.... Also....if you cannot come, would you please contact me, give me your information, and let me have it there to present to the group and I will be more than happy to share back with you what transpired during the meeting!!!!! I have been busy working on family group sheets bringing all I can up to date to present at the Friday night meeting... Also, I have started copying pictures adn I will have them avilable for you all to view at the reunion and the will copy out pretty good on the photocopy machine there. I will have them in a book; labeled, etc... I will also have a group of *Mystery* pictures...where everyone can look at them and see if you can help identify... I did this at the Smith reunion yesterday and got about 4 identified...that I had no clue who was.... If you have any questions, please call or write email....
