Here is an aritcle from this morning's Alexandria Daily Town Talk: TWO MORE SHOT TO DEATH IN VERNON Apparent murder-suicide comes one day after slayings By Jeff Conrad Staff reporter SOAPSTONE----One day after two people were shot to death near New Llano, Vernon Parish sheriff's deputies were investigating two more shooting deaths Friday, these in the Soapstone community near Pitkin. The Soapstone deaths are believed to be a murder-suicide. The New Llano slayins are believed to be related, although a suspect has only been charged in only one of the killings. Around 8:50 a.m. Friday, deputies discovered the bodies of BELEA F. MARICLE, 44 and DONALD L. WILSON, 58, at their home on I. Maddox Road in the Soapstone community, southeast of Pitkin. Ms. Maricle was shot several times, and WILSON died from a single gunshot wound to the head, according to the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office. A preliminary investigation shows Wilson shot Ms. Maricle after a domestic disturbance before turning the gun on himself, Chief Deputy Louis Magee said. Magee said a neighbor found the bodies after becoming concerned when he did not see Ms. Maricle or Wilson on Thursday. Wilson and Ms. Maricle were pronounced dead at the scene by Assistant Coroner Jerry Jeane. The bodies were sent to Lake Charles for autopsies.
