I enjoyed meeting the cordial people of Huntsville and listening to the frank, informative remarks of the guest speaker, astronaut Henry Hartsfield. A special bonus was seeing an old friend, General John DYAS, a former Hall of Fame inductee who had retired from the Air Force and was now living in Mobile. Johnny and I had been assigned to Ramstein Air Base in Germany together. Cols. Herbert Carter and Chuck Dryden, who had served with me in the 99th more than 40 years before, also attended the ceremony....
