There have been several people on the list who have asked for information regarding Cherokee tribes. The June/July 1998 newsletter Family Tree from the Ellen Payne Odum Library has two articles regarding Native American's. One stated that a data base is now available and is updated weekly. This has the Dawes Roll "Free Civilized Tribes 1898-1914. You can search at http://www.nara.gov/nara/nail.html Another suggested the "single best resources for Native American Genealogy" is the Family History Center (Church of Latter Day Saints-LDS).
