I have another FTM CD/ROM, #170, "Immigrants to the New World, 1600s-1800s" that has an article discussing the factual evidence to support who was actually on the Welcome. John Dutton isn't even mentioned as someone who was thought to be on it, but, in fact, was not. One point made was that Quakers living in the north would likely have boarded a ship out of Liverpool which was much closer to, if not in, Chershire where John Dutton most likely lived. John did come to America in 1882, which is documented in Cope. > -----Original Message----- > From: Edward Dutton [mailto:areduton@coffey.com] > Sent: Wednesday, February 02, 2000 9:46 AM > To: DUTTON-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: PASSENGER LISTS > > > Not to take anything away from Gilbert Cope and his work(s); GENEAOLOGY OF > THE DUTTON FAMILY OF PENNSYLVANIA > and THE DUTTONS OF CONNECTICUT. > The immigration lists have more than 42 Duttons who > immigrated before 1800, and many after that in varying > locations.
