My Grandfather was Thomas Absalom Dutton b: 4-1-1875 in Egypt, Effingham Co., GA. he married Mattie Carroll Fryar from Magnolia,Duplin Co..NC His father was Thomas Absalom Dutton b: 6-28-1846 in Bullock Co., GA. he married Eugenia Natalia Foy from Effingham Co., GA. He died 8-30-1875, Marlow, Effingham Co.,GA. He was in Co. I, 54th Georgia Infantry.CSA His parents were Samuel Dutton and Sarah Hagins they were married August 24, 1845 in Bullock co., GA. They also had a daughter Sarah who was born abt. 1848. They are listed in the 1850 census of Bullock co. Also in that census is Henry Dutton age 61 from Mass. a carpenter by trade married to Ann Cocks of GA age 49. Joseph 24 Andrew 21 Will 10 Mary 15 John Welsey 13 Oveton 10 Martha 8 I believe that Samuel was also their son, his age was 29.
