Hello Everybody, I have contacted rootsweb about Dick's GEDCOM that is residing on their servers. I asked if I, as the list manager of the Dutton-l list at rootsweb, could also become the manager of the database since Dick has passed on. I am attaching their reply. If you have specific concerns regarding personal data contained in the file and presented on the Internet, please contact them at the address that they provide in the link below. Thank You!! The message reads as follows: ------------------------- Hi, Mike- Dick Dutton's Gedcom already has the option set to "clean" the information contained in the file on the living. I have spent quite a bit of time looking at the entries and answering the concerns of those who feel that "private" information about their family is included in the file. My conclusion so far is that there does not appear to be anthing displayed in the file that would not be readily available elsewhere--nothing of a strictly private nature. Names, and dates, and places are not private information. I have not seen evidence that there is anything beyond that information on living individuals in Dick's file.
