I found Dempsey D. Dutton on the 1850 census, Kentucky, Russell County, 2d District, 26 August 1850. He was age 38, a "Hiller;" on the 1860 census, an Engineer. The wife and children check out, except there is a Lucinda who may have been age 10 or 16 (illegible). She was listed after Nancy age 15 and before James age 12. The page number was 251.2 and 252 or grease pencil number 502 and 503, dwelling 177. On the 1860 census, they were still in Russell County, using a post office of Jamestown. The census date was 16 June 1860, page 678, dwelling 224, under D. D. Dutton age 48, b. GA. Elizabeth age 49 born VA. James age 22 born KY, Christopher W. age 18 born KY, and Martin R age 16 born KY. I was going to build an ILLINOIS file with all my 1850/60 census sheets, but now plan to build the KENTUCKY file first.
