Thanks to Darrell A. Martin, Springfield, Vermont, and Nicolas Blackhurst of Chester, England for their explanation of FITZ. INDIANA: This month, I am offering to share my Indiana file upon your request to me. I attempted to find all the Duttons on the Indiana 1850 and 1860 Census Indexes. No guarantees, of course. I am looking for a M. O. or Melvin Dutton born probably before 1850, supposedly born West Virginia. His son Melvin O. was born 1869. Duttons: 170. Individuals: 204. Marriages: 41 (as apparent from census, and sometimes IGI reports). IGI data was merged for a number. The IGI is from microfiche, IGI, Indiana. The IGI has columns with reference to sources, but these numbers were not copied (I do have them). Sometimes they lead to actual county birth records or marriages. They are at random and not linked to families. Linked families are on the ANF (Ancestral File, LDS). PAF3 GEDCOM--which imports into most family tree programs such as Family Origins or WFT. These families are not linked in most cases, so some type of index search is necessary. This file should help with leads for Indiana searchers. Make your requests direct to me at Juno.com; I will then E-mail with an attached GEDCOM. ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
