Dutton with the Duttons on FTM CD #13 is most interesting. I descend from that line and have done extensive research on it and would be most curious to know at what point in the line you have connected Dempsey!! The submitter of #13 is Joseph Palmer Dutton, a researcher cuzzin who also has done alot of work on our Dutton line. Joe would be the first one to tell you that since that CD came out there have been MANY corrections that need to be made to it (Alas, seems to be the story of those CDs!), as well as many additions!! However, those of us working on this research have NOT found a connection with Dempsey and those of Elias Dutton in Kentucky, at least with the information that was available to you from CD 13. I have worked also with Marilyn in trying to connect Dempsey with our Dutton line, and we have a theory that he is connected, but back into the early 1800s. If you have found some kind of connection between Dempsey and Elias we would be interested in taking a look at it. Starting with Elias Dutton born 1832 as the key. The submitter to WFT Tree was Joseph P. Dutton, RR 1 Box 2, Jenkins, KY 41537. He adds considerable detail. Elias Dutton wore out 4 wives: Sarah Penix m. 1850, Sarah Nibert m. 1885, Sarilda Preston m. 1890, and Lizzie Vanhoose (1911). He had eight children. His mother was Matilda Mullett. Elias is traced through 5 generations of descendants to a couple of lines of PRIVATE. Elias has ancestors from John Cass Dutton born 1808, Russell, VA d. 1865 Washington County, Arkansas; John Dutton b. 1775 Greenville, South Carolina (two children) listed; Jermiah Dutton b. 1745 Orange County, VA (two children listed). After merging, I do not know all the details, but some of the family ended up in Arkansas. I can provide a controlled GEDCOM for this line upon request. Or, I might be able to print it to text file and transmit. Actually, GEDCOM can usually be read as a text file, but it is not as functional as a geneaological program. ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
