At this time, the earliest DUTTON I can trace to myself is a Mr. Ellsworth DUTTON who married Etta PROCTER (or PROCTOR - it is spelled both ways on the marriage certificate!) in Washington County, which is where Marietta and other eastern Ohio river cities are located, in October 1877. Unfortunately, I have no other information on Ellsworth and Etta. Subsequent generations stayed in this general vicinity. My grandfather's family eventually moved just a bit north of this area into Tuscarawas County. Unrelated, does anyone know how the name Ella was carried through the line? I have noticed many other Ellas within the Dutton lines and, since it is my middle name, I am curious as to how or where this began. I have always been told that it was a family name.
