Hi All, Back in late February I posted an account about my visit to Sherborne Hall in the Cotswolds and followed it up by offering a suggestion of itinerary for UK in 2K. I have amended it and once again post it for your thoughts on the matter. Day 1) Arrive England (Manchester International Airport prefered) and travel to hotel. Day 2) Visit Dutton (walk around site of original Hall) and Chester (walk around city walls, visit various places of interest, Cathedral, roman sites etc.) and visit Cheshire Records Office if time. Day 3) Visit Cheshire Records Office. Day 4) Drive down to Stratford-Upon-Avon. Spend a few hours in Stratford, have lunch then on to Moreton in the Marsh to check into hotel. Visit Sherborne House, Lodge Park and Windrush and back to hotel for evening meal. Day 5) Drive on to East Grinstead to hotel. Visit Stoke Newington School (Dutton Hall) and on to London for open top tour bus drive around the city. Day 6) Day in London seeing the sights by foot. Day 7) Morning in London and then drive back up to Cheshire for hotel, celebration Dinner. Day 8) Depart for those who need to. Depending upon numbers, I have the use of a 17 seater minibus from the preparatory school at which my partner Liz teaches which for a donation will suffice. However, if there are more than 17 of us, then either a second vehicle would be needed for hire or a larger vehicle hired to take us all. The loaned bus would not be available on a Friday as the school uses it that day and so if the above itinerary were to be adopted then we would have to work around the Friday. This means that we would have to look making Day 4 a Saturday as we would need to visit Stoke Newington School on the Sunday. Thus, Day 1 would have to be a Wednesday. Therefore, knowing what we now know, can I now ask everybody who is interested in coming and being a part of UK in 2K to let me know which Wednesday you prefer to begin the itinerary from the dates below by indicating with a Y or N alongside your availability :- Wednesday June 14th Wednesday June 21st Wednesday June 28th I need to make arrangements with the hotels for you to book direct by e-mail which they have agreed to do and will give a booking reference for you all to use. However, they are pressing me for dates and numbers and so I need to get this agreed as soon as possible. Mike, can you contact everyone who is on youor list (especially if they are not readers of ROOTSWEB) and get them to respond to me promptly.
