From the 1850 Census in Brown County, Ohio, town of Hamersville in Clark Township: Seth Dutton, 46, Blacksmith Cynthia Dutton, 43 Miriam Dutton, 20 William Dutton, 18, farmer David Dutton, 10 Nancy Dutton, 8 Mosly Dutton, 5 Elizabeth Dutton,3 Columbus Dutton, 2/12 Seth was born January 16,1804 in Kennebec, Maine. His parents were Asa Dutton and Eunice Townsend. Asa brought the family to Ohio around 1815-16. Seth married Cynthia Gould of Brown County on March 5, 1829. He died in Brown County in June, 1851. I have a copy of his doctor bill spanning from January of that year up to the time of his death. I also have a copy of the bill for his coffin- 6'6", lined, $4.871/2. Seth left his "widow and five minor children" according to the probate records of his estate and DIDN'T have a will. Seth's brother, Solomon Dutton was my ggggrandfather. I've been told that Seth's son, William, had a son he named Ephraim. I'd love to confirm this!
