Hi! Can anyone help me? I'm looking for the parents of Lodia W. Dutton. He was born in Maryland & lived in Cecil Co., MD. He was born approx. 1833 & died in 1885 of tuberculosis. He married Melissa Jeanetta Wales(dau. of John H. Wales & Ariena Cockey Wales) on 26 Dec 1865 in Easton, Talbot Co. MD. They had four children; Anna Irene; E. Netta; David H.; & Elmer Lodia. I suspect that Lodia W. Dutton was descended from the Duttons of Chester Co., PA.; but as of yet I can find no connection. Cecil Co. MD is just over the state line border from Chester Co PA. I'm hoping someone can help me unravel this puzzle of Lodia's parents. Any help or possible leads of where to look would be greatly appreciated! As a side note, I have his sea chest with the original rope handles that was handed down to my grandmother as her hope chest & then passed on to me. Lodia was a sea captain, but whether it was in the navy or just a captain of a fishing vessel I'm not sure. Regardless, I treasure the sea chest. Thanks in advance for your help!
