The Original 13 refers to 13 original settlers of Germantown PA., who came from Germany in 1683 on land given to them by William Penn. My connection is that my mothers side of the family are descended from (at least) three of those 13. The "Original 13" list is not a roots web list nor a Dutton list. It's on something called "ListBot" mailing list which I think operates somewhat like RootsWeb, but is not limited to genealogy but seems to have other more commercial goals. From what I can tell so far, they don't have an easy way to view archives. But they have the same mechanism of subscribing and unsubscribing, like RootsWeb. I'll give the URL below.
