    3. Hi All, sorry for being off line for a week or so, but I have spent some adding a new 17GB hard drive, a faster 400MHz chip, a 50 speed CD Drive and a CD Rewriter to my set up as I had been having problems up until Christmas. My e-mail set up kept dropping me out when downloading my e-mails which meant that by the time I was able to get a non-stop download from my server it took several attempts and so the earlier e-mails were duplicated, triplicated etc. and so on. Now, to answer a few questions. Just before Christmas I sent an e-mail to Mike re UK in 2K and he is due to send me the details of interested people, however, it may be an idea if you took some time to answer some questions direct to me, (copied to Mike of course) so that I can evaluate the situation. So, what is on offer? Well, that really depends on what you all want as I don't want to force the issue just because I thought of the idea and I'm over here in the driving seat. And, just in case you are new to any of the above, it has been mooted that we hold a get-together in the summer of this Millennium year to meet as a family, visit various places of interest in Cheshire and England in general, to celebrate our heritage and our distant but definate ancestry and if nothing else, to have a good time getting to know each other. It was thought that we may like to try to hold a Jacobean Banquet as near to Midsummer's Day (Saturday 24th June) as possible and if possible to hold it down in East Grinstead at Stoke Newington School which is made up of parts of the original Dutton Hall. So, here are a few questions that may help to clarify the situation for us all. 1) If you are interested in a family get-together over here in Cheshire this summer, please raise a hand (just joking), please let me know how many would be in your party and approximate age groups etc.? 2) Would you be requiring assistance from over here in finding your accommodation? 3) Do you have any preferences in places that you would like to visit? 4) Do you know where Cheshire is? 5) Do you have any suggestions as to what other things you would like to do? 6) Suggested start and finish dates and length of stay etc.? 7) (For the locals) If you live here in the UK and are interested in the above event/s, would you be willing to lend a hand to organising, or assisting in the organisation of any event/s? I am sure that there are other question that you may like to ask or information that you may wish to find out. Well, now's the time to ask. To save everybody asking the same question, or duplication of answers etc., it may be advisable that all replies are open because it may prompt a question from somebody else or even an answer. I'm sorry that I will not be offering a prize for the first reply but I do hope that we can move on this as some of you have already expressed a need to arrange flights and book time off work etc. Well, moving on. I have spoken on several occassions to young Byron Hadley, he seems quite a character and is quite knowledgeable about Dutton history especially with respect to the Sherborne branch. Also, I have spoken to Charles Sherborne Dutton, who, like me works for British Telecom and feels that he is a direct descendant of the Sherborne Duttons and confirms that he is either the fourth or fifth Charles Sherborne. We are getting together next month at half term (school term) as for one Byron is still at school, Liz, my partner is a teacher and is also still at school until then. We are spending a weekend looking around the Sherborne estate and looking at various documentation that is archived locally. I will publish any findings for everyone to see. Well, that's it for now, kind regards. Colin
