There are many Duttons listed who served in the Civil War in Illinois. The web site is http://www.sos.state.il.us/depts/archives/datcivil.html You can order two records on the web for free. They show a number of things including physical characteristics, place of birth, etc. I got the two I ordered yesterday and there is a lot of information concerning the individuals (I did not find my Dutton, but found others).
