Hi all, Some years ago, I was in the Philadelphia area and went to the former Dutton properties southwest of the city on Dutton's Mill Road. After seeing the remains of the mill and a couple of the homes of the Dutton family, I went to the county offices and found among other things, anecdotal accounts of the Battle of Brandywine. One story caught my eye; a Dutton woman complained to General Cornwallis, the commander of British forces, that British soliders had stolen chickens from her property. She was able to identify the offenders and the general had them shot! I took pictures of these passages at the time. I will have to see if I can locate them after the 20+ year lapse. Gail Dutton
