As far as I know, the Athens County Duttons were all descendants of Kingsman Dutton (1759-1837) and Mary Craig. My mother's family lived there until the 1970's. In addition to Samuel's recollections I have a documented marriage for Kingsman Dutton and Ruth Watson on 27 Dec 1756 at Old Swedes Church, Wilmington, Delaware. Other than the marriage I have no other primary documents. I do, however, put a lot of faith in Samuel's ability to remember his grandfather, although with all those Kingsman/Kinsmans he may have confused the recorder. I suppose it's possible that there may be a missing generation such that Kingsman (married 1756) is an unknown son of Kingsman (ca. 1711-1765) born right after their marriage. OK 9 months after. That would have been 1737 so he would have been 20 in 1756. I'm sure there is some sort of connection given the uniqueness of the name Kingsman.
