Hi DUTTONS, The following marriage information was provided by the Old Swedes Church, 606 Church Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, from their records from 1713 to 1799. Part of this information was included in an earlier, incomplete posting 11/17/99. David Dutton/Janna McClaskey--10/22/1750 David Dutton/Mary Lind--5/4/1741 David Dutton/Hannah Rodgers--10/1/1778 Francis Dutton/Hannah Talbert--4/17/1775 Jonathan Dutton/Martha Beeson--2/5/1772 Kingsman Dutton/Ruth Watson--2/27/1756 (L). Means they had a license. Thomas Dutton/Anna Ruth--2/13/1758 Hannah Dutton/Jonathan Richards--11/15/1756 David Dutton/Hannah Rodgers and Francis Dutton/Hannah Talbert are sons of the Kingsman Dutton who married Anne Routh. Kingsman Dutton/Ruth Watson is assumed by some to be the second marriage of the same Kingsman Dutton who married Anne Routh. This is doubtful because he would have been married to two wives living in the same township of Aston, Chester County, PA. at the same time. Also his first wife was living when Kingsman died, because she administered his estate, received a widow's 1/3 of his estate, and received a larger amount to maintain and school their two younger children, all this according to the probate records of Chester County, Pa. Some records indicate Kingsman Dutton/Ruth Watson had a son, Kingsman, born in Aston township in 1759. It may be that Kingsman Dutton/Ruth Watson was another son of Kingsman Dutton/Anne Routh, but we have no proof. I ask the church for any additional information about these Dutton, and it indicated they had has no additional information and no records indicating any of them were members of the church. The will (1718-1719) of the first Kingsman I know of spelled and signed his name Kinsman. He was the grandfather of the first Kingsman Dutton who married Anne Routh. Bob Dutton
