Hello Doug (and anyone else interested in our English history), Here is a useful web site that converts Regnal dates into our calendar. ex: 13 Ric. 2. The dates are computed from the time that the King acceded to the throne. The first number represents how many years since he acceded. Type it into the little box on the far right. When you do not know a day and month and you use Jan to June 1 (I've been checking against Leycester) your year will be 1 to high (1390). If you use Jul to Dec 1, your dates will match Leycester's dates 1389). Why this is so, I do not know! http://www.albion.edu/fac/engl/calendar/regnal.htm --------------- This calendar will help you find saint days during medieval times. For example, In Cope, Leycester reports (p18) a date 3 Rich. 2, 1379, that was signed on the Sunday next after the Feast of St. Martin..." With these two programs, the date turns out to be 13 Nov 1379, 3 Ric. 2. :-)) http://www.execulink.com/~edwall/calendar/mcc_main.htm Carole
