    2. Carole Dutton Malisiak
    3. Hi Nich: I wonder how you are coming along with your Warburtons? Have you checked the parish records for Cheshire and Lancs.? I thought that I would pass this info on. Leycester reports in Cope (p.13-14) that Hugh Dutton had a son named Adam de Dutton who became the proprietor of Warburton. Peter, s/o Geoffry, s/o Geoffrey, s/o Adam, s/o Hugh de Dutton (III) moved his habitation to Warburton. (The two Geoffrey's sometimes called themselves of Budworth) Peter's son Peter called himself Peter de Warburton around the end of Edward 1. (Corrections welcomed!) So, since the Warburtons are really Duttons, I have this from the DKR 25:58, Inquisitions post mortem and other Inq. In the future, I will check the writs of livery for the Warburtons. 1. ILLINOIS DUTTON
    2. I am still post Illinois to my gen. lists on computer, searching for Melvin or M. O. Duttons. HARDIN and GALLATIN counties are in southeast Illinois. Does anyone know the submitter to WFT Volume 16, Tree 493 regard Abner Dutton and his descendants--probably member of a HOBBS family. The Family History Center has some IGI records which could help the submitter. WFT Volume 16 has Abner Dutton born about 1802 Pennsylvania. He married Elizabeth. IGI has Abner Dutton married to Elizabeth Yaylor 8 Mar 1832, Gallatin County. The WFT notes say that Abner was on the 1850 census, but he was not on the index or my notes for 1850. He was on the 1860 census in Hardin County, all the children born Illinois, including the oldest on the census age 26. So he should have been on the 1850 census. Apparently the WFT submitter found him. Also on the 1860 census, Hardin County, was William Dutton and Susan, probably his son. WFT Volume 16 Tree 493: Abner Dutton was born Abt 1802 in Pennsylvania. He married Elizabeth. Fact 6: 1850 Census, Hardin Co., Ill. 8 children: James b. abt 1835, Ill William R. b. abt 1838, Ill. Louisa Ann b. abt 1838, Ill. John b. abt 1840, Ill. George b. abt 1842 Ill. 1. WESTWARD MIGRATION TO OHIO
    2. FILM 928209 Item 1. SPRAGUE FAMILIES IN AMERICA, compiled and published by Warren Vincent Sprague, M.D., The Tuttle Company, Printers, Rutland, Vermont: 1913. About a year ago, someone asked why people moved west. As I recently read in a book about migration from Switzerland to Germany), an old Swiss saying "Many sons - small property." Page 164. The noted citizen warrior and leader Joshua Sprague had moved from Rhode Island to Canada about 1762. They were invited there to occupy the land left by "the luckless Arcadians who had been carried away by order of Gov. Lawrence in 1755." At the opening of the Revolution War, there was so much feeling against the new settlers on account of their sympathy for their brethern in revolution that they were forced to leave, losing all their possessions. Mr. Sprague and his sons were enthusiastic in the cause of freedom--enlisting and fighting in the war. Major Sprague enlisted as a private, then served as a Major, and enlisted twice more as a private. Note 2 page 164-165: For the losses sustained by these refugees from Canada and Nova Scotia, and for the services some of them rendered the United Colonies or States in the Revolutionary War against Great Britain, Congress passed a resolution, apr. 23, 1783, that "whensoever Congress can consistently reward them by grants of land they will do so." (from time to time, and extension on time for application was enacted). Joshua Sprague and James Sprague, his son, and the heirs of Gilbert Searmans are mentioned as entitled to land under an act passed April 23, 1812 (2 Stat. 712) that Joshua Sprague should be entitled to 960 acres of land in Ohio, and James Sprague 320 acres, and the heirs of Gilbert Seamans 320 acres of land. Joshua Sprague said he always regretting going to Canada, as he had a "peck of silver dollars" when he went there, implying he lost the peck.

    1. Re: Dutton Reunion July 18
    2. Hi, The reunion was small, but fun. There were about 50 people there, most everyone was from the same family line (descendants of Eugene Andrew Dutton b. 7-Nov-1870) see below. Doug Hall was the hit of the party. He brought his charts going back to the Odard time frame and everyone enjoyed his information and knowledge. I did pick up some new information (new to me) on the families that were there. If this line ties into your line Ill be glad to send you what I have (once I get it sorted out). 3. Hello, I may be able to attend. I live in Chichester, NH, only an hour away. If I am able to convince my wife to let me go, I will bring along some historic Dutton items for people to view. I have the original 1682 survey of John Dutton's land in Aston, Pennsylvania, as well as a couple of parchment Dutton deeds from about 1710. I also have a copy of the big chart of the Duttons of England.
