I mourn Dick's passing. When I found the Dutton Family of Newburyport, MA, site, I wrote to him with some additions. He said I was the first relative who'd contacted him there. Now not only is he gone without my finding out how he was related to my husband, the late George Dutton, b. 1919, Wash., DC, but I have lost the URL for the site. Can somebody supply the URL? Roberta
A member of another list has asked for information on possible descendants of Polly Dutton, b. abt 1776 in Loudoun Co., VA, and married to a James Blaker on 6 Dec 1798 in Loudoun Co., VA. >From some information sent me a long time ago by Dick Dutton, I have found Polly and James, but with no descendant data. From what is here, Polly was the daughter of James (1743-1839), son of Joseph (abt 1715-1773), son of John III (1675-1735), son of John II (1648-1693). The list goes on, but I believe it's conjecture from then on (maybe even to that point - I'm not sure). Anyway, would anyone have any descendant information on Polly? Thanks. Ron
Hi All, Can someone help Nana?? I am looking for a DUTTON who had a daughter born early 1800's in PA. Her name was Malinda. Malinda then married Amos Stall (later spelled Stahl)b. 1809 PA. Malinda and Amos must have died or divorced before 1850 as he shows up in census in Perry co. Pa with new wife. Their Daughter Emma (Minnie) married Peter Hoover b. Ohio and so on...These are my direct grandparents. I've found a reference in the Hoover Histories to a lady who had a bible with the name Emma Hoover, Lucy Stall, Rosanna Dutton, but she sold it to some Dutton Association that she couldn't remember name or address. These are my family. I even have 4 "Dutton" silver spoons passed down to me but no one remembers anything but Amos Stall and Malinda Dutton Stall and that's from a journal by their daughter Emma that I have. I believe the family was Quaker because Emma married into the Quaker Hoover family. If you could help me at all I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for being so kind, Nana Frennesson nanalf@hotmail.com ________________________________

This is my first message, so hello to Duttons world wide! George and Rebecca Dutton had a son William who was baptised at Mansfield, England in 1815.George was a bricklayer and \ or Stone mason. William also became a stone mason. Has anyone any knowledge of George or Rebecca before 1815? Also where did they go, were there any more children? George was my g.g.g.grandfather, William my g.g. grandfather Note Mansfield is also close to Derbyshire and Yorkshire. Paul Dutton

Happy New Year to you all. Thought this was a good time to ask for help on locating my ancestors. My G.Grandfather was Thomas Absalom Dutton, b: 6-28-1846 in Bullock Co., GA. d: 8-30-1875, in Marlow, Effingham Co.,GA. Married Eugenia N.Foy, from Egypt, Effingham Co. GA. My Grandfather was also Thomas Absalom Dutton, b; 1-1-1875 in Egypt, Effingham Co. GA, d: 10-27-1927, Egypt, GA. Married Mattie Carroll Fryar from Magnolia, Duplin Co.,NC I believe my G.Grandfathers parents were Samuel Dutton and Sarah Hagin, they were married 8-24-1846, in Bullock Co., GA. The census records of 1850: Samuel Dutton 29- Farmer Sarah Dutton 31 Thomas Dutton 3 Sarah Dutton 2 These ages are right for Thomas and Sarah. There was also a Henry Dutton listed in the census of 1820 & 1850 The 1850 census lists Henry Dutton 61- Carpenter- from Massachusetts Ann Cocks 49 from GA. Joseph 24 Andrew 21 William 19 Mary 15 John Wesley 13 Overton 10 Martha 7 I believe that Henry Dutton and Ann Cocks are the parents of Samuel. But have not been able to verify that. I have seen some information that a Henry Dutton came from Mass. during the time of the War of 1812 and settled in GA. Wonder if there are any Duttons out there that might help me find the answer? Thank you. Jackie Purdy in Shingle Springs, CA.
Would you please remove my husband's address from this list. As you know he died several weeks ago, and unfortunately there is no one here that maintains the interest in genealogy that he did. Thanks for your help Jean Dutton
A very Happy New Year from the Midwest! Here's hoping each of us will find peace, joy, happiness, and that ever elusive ancestor in 2000! Lynn Murray :) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Messenger. http://messenger.yahoo.com
And a Happy New Year from Oregon. Looks like a the far east has made it through to the year 2000 just find. Oregon will be one of the last parts of the globe to move into that time. It is interesting to me, as an amateur genealogist and historian, that an arbitrary date can cause so much fear. We are all blessed as a family to have such a connection and understanding of the past as it helps us to look to the future without fearing the uncertainties that every day hold. Have a great New Years. Hi, I too want to wish each and every one of you a very happy New Year. I spent most of my life knowing I was a Dutton, but never being able to find my real family. Thanks to my very special cousin, Laurie Spandorf, who found my message on AOL and answered with a very short note (I have a Foster Dutton in my tree) I now not only know my family, I have grown to love her as well as Joe Dutton who lives in Ky. I love them both very much. Happy New Year every one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bessie Dutton
