    1. [DUTCH-COLONIES] Help?
    2. Lynne Roberts
    3. I have come to my wits end - have managed to accumulate a thorough and detailed genealogy for my fifth great grandfather - Andrew (Andries) Norwood (Nurwood, Narwood, Norrid, etc) - b. bef. 4 Apr 1703, NY, NY, NY, d. 23 Jan 1787, lived most of his adult life in New Brunswick, Middlesex, NJ, died in Hoosick, Rensselaer Co, NY - and thanks to much assistance from you all (thanks Pam Sears, Mike Morrissey, Howard Swain, et al) have done a good job of detailing the lives of their progeny. I have managed to gather up all the records held by the New Jersey and New York Archives regarding this family. However, I am completely stumped with the marriage record of Andrew Norwood and Annatje (Hannah) Van Norden (although the fact of the marriage is well documented through baptism and probate records). Now, there has to be some record of the marriage - somewhere. I've tried to contact the repository of the Dutch church records in New Jersey, but they won't talk to me. I've tried the FHL - and have gone through films that just might be relevant - and I've surfed the net until I'm blue in the face - NOTHING. So, I don't think I'll strike gold a second time, don't expect another Mike Morrissey to come galloping in with the answer to all my questions - but I'm really sincerely hoping that one of you will have a great - a good - suggestion for a possible source that I might have missed. I've run dry. I really don't know where else to look - but frankly, I'm not interested in throwing in the towel. By the way, I just got my NYGBS magazine and I see that Russell L. Gasero is going to speak at the NYPL on April 25th. He is the archivist for the Reformed Church in America archives, located in the New Brunswick Theological Seminary. Is anyone going? I would be happy to pay someone to speak to him in my behalf - I really think his archives are my only hope for finding record of the marriage of Andrew Norwood and Annatje Van Norden. If anyone is willing to help me who is planning on hearing his talk, I'd love to communicate with you!!!! And if anyone has any suggestions for a possible source for this marriage record, please pass it on. I'm just out of ideas. Lynne Lynne Roberts Roseville, CA http://www.lynnesgenealogy.com
