Thank you James for the information. Is there any chance that someone has access to the "original" birth records for Jan and Judith, and perhaps the marriage record for John Jan Allen ad Johanna Anna Haldron. All of my information is secondary. Without the obvious mistranscription of Haldron for Waldron in that case, perhaps my suggestion that the other Haldrons were actually Waldrons was hasty. They are a few other Haldron records as you likely know. The relationship of the early Allens with the Waldrons also seems clear, so maybe the similarity of names and the residence of both families in Harlem are coincidental. The sponsors in 1677 are Willem Waldron, a son of Resolved, and his known wife Engeltje Stoutenberg. The 1675 sponsor is another Waldron, possibly Ruth (Willem's half-sister) but probably not Rutger - the name Rutger didn't come into the Waldron family until the 1674 marriage of Daniel Waldron and Sara Rutgers. In any event, there appears to have been a relationship between the Waldrons and Allens that preceded the 1705 marriage of Johan Ellin van Milfort and Anna "Haldrin" van N. Haarlem. The Waldrons lived at this time in Harlem. The baptism at the NYRC 30 Mar 1709 of Jan, son of "Jan Ellin & Annetje Haldron" is sponsored by Jan Haldron, Abraham Brajor, Cornelia Haldron. Maybe someone with a better Waldron file than mine can identify these relatives of Anna. It sure looks like the repeated transcription error in the only baptism record for the couple has given Anna an incorrect surname until now. I would like to know if Jan and Francyn had more than two children, Jan and Judith. I would also like to know if anyone has made the connection back to Connecticut families. John Jan Allen and Johanna Anna Haldron should be my 6th Great Grandparents. Regards Edward Kipp Sources consulted: Collections of the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, Vol II. There are probably multiple transcription versions available in online sources. You might want to compare them. For originals, should they still exist, contact the church to see if they have the documents archived on site or if they have been placed in a church repository, like the Reformed Church in America: < https://www.rca.org/archives >, < http://images.rca.org/docs/archives/churchrecords.pdf > There might be microfilm of the original records in FamilySearch.org's catalog or in the New York State Library or New York State Archives, though the early records will be in Dutch. >________________________________ > From: "ekipp@rogers.com" <ekipp@rogers.com> > > >. . .access to the "original" birth records for Jan and Judith, and perhaps the marriage record for John Jan Allen ad Johanna Anna Haldron. . . > >============================================== >
