I have Sara de Forest, b. c. 1686, w. of Johannes Meyer and daughter of Isaac de Forest and Lysbeth Van Der Spiegel. My sources for Sara are the records of the Baptisms of the Reformed Dutch Church of New Amsterdam 1639-1730 and the Purples. Barbara L. de Mare, Esq. My guess is that he is the Jermias Janszen who was also known with a surname of (den) Hagenaar. Later the family adopted the name of (van) Westerhout. His father was Jan Janszen. We had quite a discussion of this family here in the fall of 1999. This Jeremias married with int. 16 Aug 1664 Catalyntie, the daughter of Joris Janszen Rapalje and Catalyntje Trico. So, as you know, that gives some connection to the De la Grange family. > Which Sara de Foreest was this? I don't seem to have a Sara de foreest > the right age. Could this have been Sara du Trieux, wife of Isaac de > Foreest? I have no death date for her --was she still around by 1679? > She would have been maybe 54 or so. I agree with your identification of Sara. Riker's Harlem (p. 781) says she didn't die until Nov. 1692.
