You may be correct Pam............... Ariantje was a twin to Jan and bpt. in the Jamaica RDC. Sponsers: paternal grandmother, Adriaentje Bloodgood, the wife of Hendricus Hegeman. 1 Ap 1716. And her father's will mentions her spouse, Hendrick Lott: I, Joseph Hegeman, of Jamaica, on Long Island... give to my wife Sarah, the use of all my lands and real estate while she remains my widow. But as soon as she marries [again] she shall deliver them up to my sons. After her decease I leave all my real estate to my sons, John, Hendrick, and Joseph, and they are to pay £150 to each of their three sisters, Ariantie, wife of Hendrick Lott, Elizabeth, and Sarah. All personal estate to my wife and six children. I make my wife Sarah executor. My eldest son, John, is to have £25. Witnesses: Benjamin Whitehead, John Dorlandt, S. Clowes. Will proved May 5, 1741. Sorry but that's all I have for Joseph's will. Perhaps you can find more of the will and the exact baptismal record for Ariantje in the Jamaica papers? Cynthia Frank J Doherty [thanks to Dorothy Koenig) discusses the Dutchess County Hegemans in Volume VI of his "Settlers of the Beekman Patent." He gives Adriaentje Hegeman's birth date as 1 April 1716 and notes that she married Hendrick Lott, but he does not give any information on their children, her death, or Hendrick's second marriage. *A* Hendrick Lott and Ariaantje Hegeman baptized 2 children at the Poughkeepsie Reformed Church in Dutchess County, NY: Jooseph #257; Bapt.
