Hi Howard et al, The Burghers and Freeman has been on-line, included in the Making of America series at the University of Michigan. http://quod.lib.umich.edu/cgi/t/text/text-idx?c=moa;type=simple;rgn=subject;q1=New%20York%20%28State%29%20--%20History Unfortunately, the list of books that appears are all titled "The John Watts DePeyster Publication Fund series." Vol. #'s 1-56, and it takes some sleuthing to find each title page, or the subject of each. They are all from the Collections of the New York Historical Society series. Burghers and Freemen happens to be Volume 18, but I have not taken the time to discover (yet) just what is included in all the other volumes. Hope this helps. Regards, Pam Sears

Here are some useful volumes: Vol 18 Burghers and Freemen Vols 25 - 41 Abstracts of Wills (they also have thier own additional vol 1 to 17 numbering) Vol 42 Ledger No. 1 Chamberlian's Office (1691-1699) and Indentures of Apprentices 1718-1727 Vols 43 & 44 1695 to 1699 Tax Lists for New York [City] Vol 46 some Early Deeds and Land Grants and also the Melyn Papers Regards, Howard hswain@ix.netcom.com
