I don't know about the rest of you but I can create a pound sign by using the character palette, currency symbols and clicking £ . I hope it does not reproduce as a question mark, as did the message authored by Phyllis Patton. I do use a Mac Power PC G5 and [OSX 10.4.9] and am curious to see if this symbol manages to make it through to your forum.
