    3. Hi Norma, First let me say that I know nothing of Baltus Lott, and I have found nothing on him in The Lott Family in America" by Mr. Phillips. However, I do think that the will you show below for Hendrick Lott belongs to the Hendrick Lott, bapt. 21 Sep 1718 at Jamaica, the son of Abraham Lott and his 3rd wife Marytje (__?__). Note that this Hendrick Lott mentions his brother Peter of New York City, and his son Abraham. This is likely the Peter who married Femmetje Remsen and had only child Abraham who was bapt at the NY RDC on 5 Sep 1722, and married Cornelia Rapalje, Jannetje Goelet and Marytje Van Asltyne, the widow of Abraham Van Wyck (discussed previously on the List). Mr. Phillips in The Lott Family of America only mentions this Hendrick Lott briefy, on page 10, saying that Hendrick Lott, bpt 21 Sep 1718 at Jamaica (son of Abraham & Marytie), married as his 2nd wife to Hester Boeckhout on 19 Sep 1755 at the "Presbyterian Church" and had children Abraham, Mary and Sarah. He resided in Nine Partners, Dutchess Co., NY. [nothing further given] I believe, but cannot prove, that this same Hendrick Lott married 1st to Ariaantje Hegeman, the daughter of Joseph Hegeman and Sara Van der Vliet. Frank J Doherty [thanks to Dorothy Koenig) discusses the Dutchess County Hegemans in Volume VI of his "Settlers of the Beekman Patent." He gives Adriaentje Hegeman's birth date as 1 April 1716 and notes that she married Hendrick Lott, but he does not give any information on their children, her death, or Hendrick's second marriage. *A* Hendrick Lott and Ariaantje Hegeman baptized 2 children at the Poughkeepsie Reformed Church in Dutchess County, NY: Jooseph #257; Bapt. Date: 8 Jun 1742; Parents: Hendrik Lot, Ariaantjen Heegeman; Sponsors: Henderikus Heegeman, Sara Heegman Source: Poughkeepsie Reformed Church (Baptisms) Maria #325; Bapt. Date: 2 Feb 1745; Hendrik Lott, Arianche Heckeman Source: Poughkeepsie Reformed Church (Baptisms) Joseph Lott appears to have died young, and Sara and Abraham (named in the will) may have come later, during the years the Poughkeepsie records are missing. Assuming it was this same Hendrick Lott who married Hester Boeckhout, here are those records: "Hendrick Lott, widower" m. 19 Sept. 1755 in the Rombout Presbyterian Church, Hester Buckhout, [NYGBR 69:286.] Names of persons for whom marriage licenses were issued by the secretary of the province of New York, previous to 1784. Publisher: Weed, Parsons and company Publication Date: 1860 City: Albany, p 54. Married by license dated 10 Sep 1755. The index of the book by Mr. Phillips does not include an appropriate Andries Lott, nor any mention at all of a Baltus Lott. Baltus and Andries Lott may be brothers, but I don't think that Hendrick is another brother, but rather, the Hendrick Lott of Jamaica. 3. Pam, Thanks for the info on these Lott families. Sharon, CT history says Sackett helped settle German Palatine refugees and I kind of thought Baltus may be one of them. Baltus is Dutch for Balthsar, I have been told. The history also states Baltus was Dutch so I had been working on the assumption he was dutch. His daughter married into an established English family though. Most of my Dutch ancestors didn't marry out of dutch community till later on as they moved west it seems to me. I am starting to believe that my Baltus Lott was a German Palatine and his surname would have probably been Luth Norma ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pamela J.
