I have a Lewis GETTON who died abound 1744 at Middletown, Delaware. I think he must be a son of the Lewis GETTON of Staten Island, constable of the West Division of Staten Island as of April 1699. He may be the "Seton, Lewes" who is age 24 in the Staten Island census of 1706/1709 --page 5-30. His daughter Jane (Jeanne, etc) JETTON (Geton), also appears in the Staten Island census of 1706/1709 a "girl" --page 5-2. She is probably quite a little girl at this time, since her father was only 24. This Jane (Jeanne, etc) GETTON was married, unknown date before 1732, to ___ BELLOW. Will abstract of her father from New Castle County wills mentions Jane with her married surname: "Lewis Goton/Geton. Yeoman. St. George's Hd. Feb 18, 1732. April 12, 1748. G.113. Sons Lewis and Peter Geton; dau. Jean Bellow; dau. Mary Vandegrift; dau. Sary Jeton." I think Jane JETTON's husband was very likely a member of the BILLIEU family of Staten Island, NJ, and Philadelphia and Bucks Counties, Pennsylvania. Can anyone help identify who was the husband of Jean/Jane, daughter of Louis Geton II?? Thanks very much, Liz J
Jeton is another spelling of the name you are researching.
