Many libraries are aware of their responsibil, ity and will not copy an entire article. There is often a notice posted by the public copying machines reminding people of the law. It is indeed true that there are schools, libraries, and so forth that copy illegally. They are probably acting out of ignorance, not malice. Our church will not copy hymns without permission if there is a copyright holder (not to worry if the hymn was written by St. Augustine or Martin Luther or Charles Wesley). ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ady" <asbalch@hal-pc.org> To: <dutch-colonies@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 04, 2007 7:17 PM Subject: Re: [DUTCH-COLONIES] Article by Harry Macy > If it is illegal to copy an article without compensating the copyright > holder, then many libraries, schools, etc., are in violation of the law. > > Ady > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > DUTCH-COLONIES-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without > the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
