    3. I have heard the term, baby dedication. I always thought it was probably in churches that didn't baptize babies.     3. Dedication is normally used in the sense of dedicating the child and his or her life to Christ. In the usual sense, it is not a ceremony in itself but instead a reason and purpose attached to the ceremony.
