DeHooges and Bradt are my line ----- Original Message ----- From: "Elsie H. It seems to have many meanings: astonishment, unbelief, silliness, etc. I had a great uncle who used to tussle our hair in a friendly greeting and exclaim, "Ach, you're Dutch!" So we all called him "Uncle Dutch." It was my Buys family search that first started me on my trail of Dutch ancestors. But, along the way, I discovered many, many more Dutch connections. The Buys are in my mother's family and when I started researching my father's mother's family I ran into the Van Alstynes a couple generations back. Well, if you're a Van Alstyne, you are a: Van Alen, Van Deusen etc. etc. Both sides of my family are loaded with Dutch! I'm descended from almost every Dutchman (or woman) who got off the boat in New Netherlands! Uncle Dutch was right: "Ach, I'm Dutch!"
