    3. It is noted in the court minutes of Fort Orange and Beverwyck for Oct. 20, 1654, that "Theunis Cornelisz van Slingerlant requests a lot. Postponed until the drawing of lots." The original court minutes, in Dutch, belong to Albany County and I think are at the county Hall of Records The records have been translated by A. J. F. van Laer in Minutes of the Court of Fort Orange and Beverwyck (published Albany, 1920) and by Charles T. Gehring in Fort Orange Court Minutes, 1652-1660 (published SyracuseUniversity Press 1990).
