Hi all, I recently ran across and article that may interest some here: "The Identification of Jan Pieterszen van Huysen" by Anne Lawrence de Forest (Mrs. Louis Effingham de Forest) in TAG vol 12 (July 1935), pp 70-76. Since there were several men named Jan Pieterszen in NA and since sometimes they are recorded without additional identifying names, it is sometimes hard to tell who is who. She has done what appears to me to be a good job identifying all the events, etc. which apply to this particular J.P. Which would (if she is correct) eliminate them for the other J. P.s. One thing she has done is to look at several original records which have his mark. These enabled her to be sure they were the same man whether it had "van Huysen" or "van Housem" or not.
