Aert Jacobsz (van Wagenen) was not the son of aforementioned Jacob Aertse Wagenaar. In fact the children of Aert Jacobsz did not begin using the surname van Wageningen until about 1706. The first two children (daughters) of Aert Jacobsz and Annetje Gerrits van Schaick were born in Achtienhoven and Utrecht. The family came to Renssekaerwyck about 1646-47. Jacob Aertse Wagenaar arrived in Rensselaerwyck in 1637 at age 25, therefore he was born c 1612. Aert Jacobsz married in 1640, so assuming he was about 26, he was born c1614; even if he was only 20 when he married his birthdate would be c 1620, so he can't possibly be the son of Jacob Aertse Wagenaar. I have seen this misinformation posted in many places and have notified many of the posters. Unfortunately errors of this sort abound and seem to take on a life of their own as they are repeated and reposted in numerous places. Patricia Van Wagenen Heffernan
