I've received some great information from my online friends that has led me to the "Second Annual Report of the State Historian of the State of New York", published in 1897. In this book I find the name of my great(5)-grandfather twice in connection with two different military regiments. The problem now, is that I don't know enough about how the army was set up back in the 1710's, or what they were doing, to get really understand what these records are telling me. Can anyone recommend someone whose passion is early 18th century US military who can give me a quick rundown as to what was going on? Thanks, Chris
