Pam, as always .. You are incredibly kind to share yet more information ! After I was re-reading my notes I also found the 1723 baptism for Peter Buckhout, son of Jan & Marytie Buckhout, in Tarrytown. It's not uncommon for the Buckhout branches, the one that went north into Westchester & primarily descends from Matthys, and the second that went from Newtown to Bushwyck and then on to Dutchess Co. via Pieter, both sons of immigrant Jan, to get confused! It's my mission to continue to try and unravel the two branches. I'm, of course, descended from the Dutchess Co. one which is the hardest to untangle as that branch did not (for the most part) attend a Dutch church (sadly) and so often the family members' baptisms, marriages etc. are scarce. Nonetheless, I will carry on -- just to summarize (in case anyone else is remotely interested). I think we can definitely say that the Peter Buckhout who married Sara Gardenier and was having children until at least 1760, is not the same one who married Jean (Jannitje) Churchill [possibly Brouwer] in 1755.
