Hallenbeck was born c. 1793 and married to Maria Halsey > (Halsted?), b. c. 1805. They were married 1 Jan 1825 in the Reformed > Church in Bethlehem, NY. They are buried in the Limestreet (Collechburh) > Cemetery in West Athens, NY. Casper and Maria had the following children: > Magdaline (b. 3 Jan 1826), William T. (c. 1834), Jane Ann (b. 27 Jul 1837) > and James R. (my 3x g-grandfather, b. 31 Aug 1839). I have information > from there down to me, but I have not been able to trace back any farther > than Casper or Maria. Any information or assistance would be greatly > appreciated! > > Thanks, > Jeremy You may already know about this. NEHGS has on its website (for members) Abstracts of Wills, Administrations and Guardianships in NY State, 1787 - 1835., originally compiled by William A. D. Eardeley. I believe that most of these wills are not in the NYHS will abstracts by Pelletreau nor are they in Fernow's will abstracts. Their NY databases are shown here: http://www.newyorkancestors.org/ Here is the link for the Eardeley wills, etc. data base, but it may work only for members. http://www.americanancestors.org/search.aspx?Ca=094&Da=7 I found the will abstract of a "Jacob Hallenbeck of Town Bethlehem Co. Albany" dated 18 May 1819 and proved 4 May 1820. He names all the children you have listed above. Unfortunately, he names his wife but does not give her name. Jacob is his eldest son. Jasper is named next. Dau. Elizabeth is married to David LeRoy. Asa Tiffany "was married" to his dau. Hannah (I assume Hannah is deceased). There may be more info in this database that could help you. Also, there may be more in the actual probate file. The LDS has filmed some of the New York probate records. As I recall and as of several years ago they had not filmed all of the records in the packets. But the above does at least show a Jacob with son Jasper in the same town your Casper was married in 6 years later. Regards, Howard [email protected]
