    1. [DUTCH-COLONIES] Thomas Shreve and Thomas Stillwell
    2. Michael Morrissey
    3. I am looking for information regarding Thomas Shreve. He was a carpenter in NYC in the mid 1700s and was an administrator for the estate of Thomas Stillwell, son of Nicholas Stillwell and probably his second wife, Catherine Huyberts. Who were his parents? Whom did he marry? What, if anything, was his relationship to Thomas Stillwell. This is the information I have gathered on Thomas Shreve: Letters of Administration Name of Intestate: Thomas Stillwell, Kings Co. Administrators: Thomas Shreve Date: 17 Jul 1759 Abstracts of wills on file in the Surrogate's Office, City of New York (Volume V. 1754-1760), pg 435 1759, Oct 26. Stilwell, Thomas, of Kings Co., N.Y., yeoman. Int. Bond of Thomas Shreve (Shreeve) of New York City, carpenter, and Jeremiah Brower, of Kings Co., miller, as Adm'rs. Lib G, p. 165. New Jersey Colonial Documents, vol 32, Vol 3 of Calendar of Wills, pg 310 see also: Index of NJ Wills, Monmouth, Vol 2, pg 994 Stillwell, Thomas, 1385M B. G, pg 105, Int 1759. Charity Stillwell, presumably d/o Thomas, married Jeremiah Brower at the DRC of Flatbush on 24 Oct 1747. John Stillwell in his genealogy series on the Stillwell cites ads in New Jersey and New York newspapers regarding the estate of Thomas which mention Thomas Shreve and Caleb Shreve. I have not found these. Thomas Shreve, carpenter, and John Duyree witnessed the will of Deborah Blydenburgh, wife of Nicholas Burger in NYC in 1764. John may have been a nephew of Thomas Stillwell's 2nd wife, Catherine, supposedly Duryea. Thanks. Mike Morrissey
