    3. Cynthia, A correction to the will of Adam Brouwer Berchoven (Abstracts of Wills Vol I 1665-1707, pp. 213 & 214) is found in Vol. XVI, pp. 22-23. The full citation is: New York (State). This entry corrects the number of children from 7 to 11, and names Nicholas, Mary, Fytie and Helena Brewer; also mentions grandchildren, Mary, daughter of Magdalen, Magdalen, daughter of Mathys, Magdalen, daughter of Fytie. 3. Cynthia, This is the Will of Adam Brouwer Berkoven, the husband of Magdalena Verdon. The will you quoted does not match the text of the recorded copy that I have in my possession, and I am not sure that my copy is accurate either. As you have noted, there are two sets of page numbers. One set is the page numbers when the will was originally recorded and the subsequent page showing Magdalena Verdon as administrator. Adam Brouwer's estate was not finally settled until 1697, when Magdalena died. In about 1893, the original books were recopied, and that is the second set of page numbers. It is the copied version that is available on microfilm from the Family History Library. According to the Library's index the original version is supposed to be on another film, but I have never been able to find the original. If my recollection is correct, several granddaughters named Magdalena were give pieces of eight, not just two. One of these granddaughters is supposed to be the daughter of Fytje Adam Brouwer, but no other record shows that Fytje had a daughter named Magdalena. If she did, the girl's father would have to have been Evert Hendircksen, as Adam Brouwer wrote this will before Fytje married Matthys Cornelissen. I have been meaning to call the New York State Surrogate's Office to see if the original recorded copy still exists. Marleen Van Horne
