2. Tony, The LDS is now online. But be careful with some of these records. They are just information that people like you and I have submitted. No one at the LDS has checked or documented their work. Here's the url: LDS or http://32.96.111.13/default.asp Good Luck, Carmelita WLWMEGAWAT@aol.com Researching Andrew Jackson Dorman b. 1811 GA ------- In a message dated 99-07-14 16:57:40 EDT, you write: << Hi, Tony; You do need help, and I suggest your first stop be at the nearest Church of Latterday Saints, Genealogy Library. There should be one not too far from your home. There they have a computer and assistance to getting started. A file in their computer lists all the names in that have been researched not only by their members, but by many of us who are all welcome to use their library because what we find that is not already in their files, can be added IF WE choose to submit our findngs...and many many do because it is such a great source. There is also an online source, but when I checked for my background that I knew had been entered by a second cousin, I didn't find what I needed, so it doesn't all get to the computer source. I have no idea where you are, but the main library for the church is in Salt Lake, and it IS FANTASTIC. I've been doing this for some 40 years, and it is infectious as hobbies go. Blessings on your search, and one more thing...NO they do not pressure you to become a church member. Ellen >>
