Joan, I can not thank you enough! Your contribution gives me that "warm and fuzzy" feeling, but your example and your exhortation truly makes my day. You folks may not hear much from me in the following few months since I am going to start work on 21 VA County Census Records. As I finish transcribing each of them, I will place them on the Census Board at RootsWeb. Which brings up contributions. Contributions do not need to be in money; there are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of County Census Records just waiting to be adopted. We need transcribers (those that actually read the microfilm and transcribe the data to files for posting at RootsWeb), and proofreaders (those that don't have time to transcribe, but can still spend some time looking at the finished files. Some day, hopefully, we will have the necessary resources to pay to have ALL the available microfilms and microfiches put on the web site. You know, the Library of Congress has records that are of critical value to researchers, but who can afford to travel to Washington and spend days looking for data? Wouldn't it be nice to log on to RootsWeb and see the data from all those files? And, to see graphics of the actual files? That's our goal folks. In the meantime, we do it with volunteers just like you. SgtGeorge Listowner -------------------------------------- At 10:28 PM 12/31/98 , JRose10700@aol.com wrote: > >Sgt.
