I am pleased to announce that a new Mailing List has been started at Rootsweb! WINDOWS-FOR-DUMMIES This List is an outgrowth of two other Lists I manage, VIRUS-DISCUSSION and EUDORA-MAIL. Working with those two Lists, it became apparent that many users needed help with the basics of Windows BEFORE they could really understand how to use the Eudora email program, or how to use Anti-Virus programs. As it has turned out, on both the two Lists, the majority of email concerned how to use Windows, rather than being discussions of the topics of the Lists. Thus was born WINDOWS-FOR-DUMMIES. A note here: For our wonderful subscribers to VIRUS-DISCUSSION and EUDORA-MAIL, continue to post your email on these Lists when it pertains to the subjects of the Lists. If your question or reply has to do with Windows in general, please join the new List and start posting there. For subscribers to the other Lists I manage, I invite you to join us at WINDOWS-FOR-DUMMIES whenever you have ANY question or problem with Windows. Topics will be wide-ranging and ANY subject will be allowed, as long as it has to do with "how to" do so-and-so in Windows (or DOS, for that matter). There is already a List called COMPUTERS, but most of the time the discussions are about hardware, and not very much on software, especially Windows. It is very difficult to discuss hardware without getting into the workings of Windows, so we felt this new List was necessary.
