My G-Grandfather James Durkin (b 1831 believed Sligo) and his brother Michael (b 1826/8 definitely Sligo) and also another brother John, emigrated to Australia. They were of the RC religion, can not find too much on them. Could Thomas (b 1825 be another brother? It has been a known fact throughout the family for years that there were cousins in America. Co-incidentally or otherwise, both James' and Michael's eldest sons were named Thomas, they each also had sons named after their( known-to-me) brothers e.g. John & James..Michael's death papers in Melbourne Australia state that his father's name was Owen, but it does seem strange that there are no Owens turning up in later generations of these families.
